As the pressure builds up, a person suffering from anxiety often feels that he or she is being sucked into a downward spiral where negative thoughts, worry and stress seem to plague us day and night. Our sleep patterns are ruined and we wind up irritable and exhausted. This only exacerbates the symptoms of anxiety and the pressure at work seem to mount and there is no end in sight.
