As I hinted in my previous post, I’m working on one of those “About Me” statements to post over in my sidebar for the benefit of first-time visitors to this site. I thought it might be helpful to differentiate myself from other individuals with the same name, so I autogoogled myself. Man, there are a lot of us!
For the record, I am not the Alan Cook who:
- plays pedal steel guitar in Manchester, UK, and owns the alancook.net domain name.
- lives in San Diego and collects guns.
- is an animation artist in Ontario.
- lives in Chillicothe, Ohio, and owns the alancook.com domain name.
- is a law professor at the University of Georgia.
- is an antiques dealer in the UK.
- is a mystery writer.
- is Chief Executive at NextFlight Aviation.
- is a British banker.
- is an architect in Northern Ireland.
- is the founder of 726 Ventures.
- teaches architecture at Auburn.
- is a musician in Glasgow.
- is associated with Yellowknife Catholic Schools in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada.
- Held the Jacksonian Professorship of Natural Philosophy at Cambridge University and wrote numerous books on physics and the history of science. (He was Sir Alan, BTW.)
Finally, I am not either of the Alan Cooks (J. Alan and Alan E.) who review books on Amazon.com. I have from time to time thought about writing some reviews there; looks like if I ever start I’ll really be compounding the confusion.
If you want to know who I am, go here.
Alans: If I’ve left you out and you want to me listed here, drop me a line at ajcook-at-sbcglobal.net.
